Why do these people hate Windows so much? So many people have this prefabricated idea how Windows crashes so much, when really, if you have decent free space and hardware (as on Macs) then you should be fine. The thing about Apple is that nearly all their machines have great hardware, and with Windows, not as much. But come on. Macs cost like $1200, okay? You can get a decent Windows machine for oh, $500 maybe? And you can get a very nice Windows machine (that crashes the same or less than Mac) for about $1000. Macs are just glassy, pretty, smooth, and beautiful. Not great functionality. That's why like, no businesses use Mac. The average user looks and says: "Oh hey! That's pretty! I want that one!" when truly, on a side by side comparison of features and functionality, Windows wins. Always. Stop hatin' on good ol' Win, darnit! Oh, and as a side note, we do use Macs at school, so this isn't onesided. And I own an iPod touch, which is essentially a Mac with app limitations. And its calculator has been wrong three times. There you go. A nice job, Jobs.

This really happened. Look at the hilarious user submitted pics here: http://houseparty.com/windows7ca

I can see the Windows 7 Party being tied in to the HouseParty.com website which is all about having a party highlighting a 'leading brand'. This is in stark contrast to real life house parties which highlight MULTIPLE brands such as Budweiser, Smirnoff & Red Bull, Tums, Trojan & Viagra, Smith & Wesson etc.

Why not have a Windows 7 party - you get a free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. :-)

Well, the video was meant for hosts that were accepted by Houseparty.com, not for the "public" as it has been shown to everyone the last few days. Microsoft seems to be taking a different approach to their advertising schemes, unlike Vista, when nobody even knew it was released. The host that were chosen were not filtered out by any technical means so they used this video to show that "anyone" can host a party. I see they got that point across.

As for a boring party, I think it's a little challenging to try and have a party around a piece of software. I am a chosen host but luckily, I have clients that are all interested in throwing their Vista out the window. Word of mouth got my small business in some great places so who knows what this will turn out like for Microsoft.

I made it about as far as the really bad edit to "call customer service if you have any questions". Maybe MS sloppy edit will inspire others to mash this thing up and make it a bit less insipid and a bit more inspiring (not necessarily inspiring one to install MS7, though).

@ThatOneGuy Those throwing the party get a free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate so I can see why someone might have motivation to throw a party but my question is... who would attend? If you go, you'll have to report back and let us know how many times the demonstration machine crashed during your party.
